This is a larger aluminum fire ant colony cast. By weight, it's around 5 lbs. lighter than the heaviest I have done so far. The tunnel and chamber structure is very dense, so it is more compact and not as tall as others of a similar weight (Cast #033 for example). Some fire ant colony casts have many wide, flat chambers (like this cast) and some have few, if any of them which is the case for this cast (closeup of the structure of this cast).

Basswood base, purchased pre-cut and stained with Danish oil, no clear coat which leaves a natural look
3 poplar support risers, 1-1/4" in diameter, secured with screws through the bottom of the base
Cast sits on base supports, and is not connected. Cast has small paint marks to help align the cast on the three supports
4 felt feet on the bottom to protect surface it sits on
