Description
The idea of casting live mushrooms came to me when I saw an especially cool looking mushroom one day. It was the kind with specks like the ones in Super Mario Bros. So, I cast that one in plaster without really having a plan to get the mushroom out or having any idea whether or not I could cast the plaster mold with aluminum or another metal.

That first mushroom is not this mushroom. I went out and found some smaller mushrooms to test before I tried to cast that cool one to make sure that it would work.

So, this mushroom is the one I tested first and the other one I will be showing later (with video).

Part of the cast mushroom that you can see is actually the below ground portion of the mushroom, you can see that clearly in the original mushroom picture.

At this point I don't know what type of mushroom this is but send me a message if you have a clue.

This is the first mushroom that I cast in plaster that I mentioned above.
Base Description
The base is made from redheart on top and yellowheart on bottom. The finish is Minwax Polyurethane Gloss.
